    Art Mindfully (2016+)

    Art Mindfully is a platform providing access to programs, workshops and virtual opportunities (Art Mindfully App) for exploring the mindful and contemplative experience of art, architecture, and nature. Utilising frameworks and tools, from wisdom traditions thousands of years old, to help us concentrate on the present moment with clarity and precision.

    VIVID FESTIVAL (2022, 2023 & 2024)

    Steve’s innovative and experiential programs have been curated into the VIVID Ideas Festival for 3-years running. Collaborating with a wide-range of guest facilitators, Steve has created sessions that bring contemplative practices, slow looking and deep listening to be experienced through art, architecture and within nature.

    CREATIVE & THE CONTEMPLATIVE (2016+)

    Sydney’s Art Gallery of New South Wales, commissioned Steve in 2016 to develop the Art in Mind program, exploring how a contemplative approach to viewing art might impact visitors to the Gallery’s exhibitions. This led to Art of Deep Looking programs at the Sydney Opera House, Museum of Contemporary Art (Sydney) and the VIVID Sydney and Brisbane Arts Festivals.

    INDIGENOUS PROJECTS (2000 - 2022)

    For more than two decades, Steve has produced and overseen major projects with some of the most creative Indigenous artists from across Australia. These projects have included the development of site-specific commissions for the Barangaroo Delivery Authority to travelling significant survey exhibitions nationally and internationally.

    DESIGN EMERGENCY (2011 - 2016)

    Design Emergency launched in 2011 at the Australian Design Centre as a program that looked to create a new generation of design thinkers and expert problem solvers. Piloted across Australia and heralded as a critical component of teaching innovation and strategy to the youth of Australia.

    Australian Design Centre (2000 - 2015)

    As CEO and Creative Director of Australia’s most progressive centre for design, Steve helped establish an international reputation for innovation and excellence in exhibitions, touring, digital content, publishing, learning and outreach programs at the ADC.

    THE POWERPLANT, TORONTO (1993 - 1997)

    The Power Plant is considered one of Canada's leading public art galleries devoted exclusively to the exhibition and interpretation of contemporary art. As Director, Steve oversaw a dynamic program of exhibitions including major survey exhibitions and special projects by Anish Kapoor, Kiki Smith, General Idea, Spring Hurlbut, Ann Hamilton and Michael Snow.

    TADASHI KAWAMATA's REMARKABLE TORONTO project (1989)

    KAWAMATA: TORONTO PROJECT 1989 - Japan’s Tadashi Kawamata creates his first Canadian project and one of his most ambitious in scale in the 1980’s. Produced by Mercer Union and supported by an extraordinary team of volunteers, this temporal installation work and the accompanying gallery exhibition was curated and produced by Steve Pozel.

    MERCER UNION, TORONTO (1983 - 1989)

    Mercer Union is a leading contemporary visual arts centre in Toronto, Canada. As Director, Steve was responsible for program development where he produced exhibitions and special projects. Overseeing groundbreaking shows by Lorna Simpson, Micah Lexier, Spring Hurlbut, Wendy Coad, Tadashi Kawamata, Bill Woodrow, David Mach & Charles Ray.
